Soothsayer Hot Sauce

Chicago’s favorite locally made satanic hot sauce. Small-batch. Award-winning. 19+ awards. Not on Amazon.

The Story

A sauce brand born on the road.

Kyle Janis spent years on the road doing production for touring bands. Along the way he collected over 100 bottles of hot sauce. When he had to move apartments, he tasted all of them in a single week to decide which to keep. That accidental palate education convinced him he could make something better.

He launched Soothsayer via Kickstarter in 2015, raising $8,146 from 127 backers — 260% above his goal. Every sauce is a collaboration with a band, restaurant, or local Chicago business, with unique artwork by a different artist on each label. All-natural, vegan, preservative-free, no added sugar.

19+ awards including Chicago Reader’s Best Local Food Product in 2023 and 2024.
